Hi fellow photographers,

I recently saw a cool example of two stacked panoramas witch can be played simultaniously while masking one another: http://tinyurl.com/P2VR-Alternating-JL

I've got no idea how this can be done, but what I would like to do for a project I am working on is the following. One panorama is shot of a scene before a renovation project and the second is shot after it. I would like to create a kind of interactive peekholes to see parts of the after panorama through the before panorama. I want the peekholes (or masks) to appear by clicking in the panorama.

Tomorrow I will supply a picture to illustrate what I want.
Has anybody done this before? If yes, do I need some extra software? Any help is appreciated!

Cheers, Dennis

Hi
Erik has spent many hours with Flash CS, not quite sure which version but I know he has been doing lots of development.
He takes two outputs from Pano2VR then puts them in Flash CS to do the blending. If you open the Page, Here.
You will see an e-mail link to to get in touch with Erik.

I tried mailing to Erik with no luck, anyway, like you said, serious coding is probably required, so for regular users no blending /yet/

Sorry guys, but there's no way I can effectively explain in a few words what i did to build these demos to non-programmers.
And those with sufficient programming skills won't need my help, they'll just do it themselves, it's no rocket science.

So if you want to make something similar you'll need a fair knowledge of ActionScript 3, an AS3 compiler, and the important info you can find here: http://gardengnomesoftware.com/wiki/Pano2VR_-_Flash_API.
For an AS3 programmer it's not that difficult I suppose, for some one who's not, well, it's a totally different story.
Sorry 'bout that.

Cheers!

Erik

Thanks for the responses!
I’ve got some basic AS3 programming skills from the past, so I’m ready to play around and learn what’s possible. Erik, would you mind sharing one of your .flas with me? I’d really appreciate to learn from your setup to incorporate the pano swf’s in Flash and make AS3 act on it.
Cheers, Dennis
