Hi,

I am trying to get the file size down to something more manageable for the web.

I have tried all the usual stuff and have come up with the following:

5000x2500 eg tif.
Cubeface 1592
Image quality 60
up 50
down 35
Render 9
next 3 options ticked

The files are coming in at 7mb, I managed to get a similarprevious project down to 1.8mb.

I have uploaded the skin as this seems to be the problem. Can anyone see anything that is increasing the file size, that can be avoided?

Thanks.

A.

Hi!
I can see that what makes your file and specially skin so big is the sound file which is over 5.8 mb. So changing the settings you posted, won´t change to much in the filesize. Maybe you can have the sound loaded externally.

The large skin size is due to your sound file. A suggestion, why not shorten the sound file and loop it?

Hi,

Thanks for your replys.

It's interesting because my sound file was 5.8mb but I had already reduced it to 2.5mb.

I have also checked the don't embed box if that makes any difference.

It seems having reduced the size of the sound file it hasn't affected the size of the skin file.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Andrew.

Ok, figured it out!

The original sound file was in the bottom right hand side of the skin editor in the sounds section.

When I replaced the sound file to run externally, it didn't remove it the from the skin automatically.

Thanks for your help!

Andrew.
