Today i purchased Pano2VR....it's an incredible software! many compliments to the programmers!

I know I can realize anaglyph 2d panos but I would like to use the 3d vision stereoscopic kit from Nvidia.
What I want realize is a 3d stereoscopic presentation, rotating mouse, zooming, switching between 3d (virtual) panos, and seeing them in full stereoscopy
I know well that this software doesn't use directx but it would be fantastic to use a 3d sphere where the software maps my cubic renderings. Infact using directx in full screen mode you can use the 3d vision engine. It splits the geometry for left and right eye, and with the Samsung 120hz monitor you can see the depth.

Hi, I think the problem here will in the way pano's are realised. A 2D 360deg pan is shot from a single nodal point in the centre of the sphere, this allows you to look around without any parallax distortion.
For a 3D image two pictures are needed, one for each eye offset from each other so you immediately have a problem as soon as you look left or right of the original viewing direction.
In short it I don't think it can be done with traditional software.

very interesting...but colorcode 3d is very expensive...is a variation of anaglyph
If Pano2VR uses two panoramic images using two opengl (or directx) buffers, Nvidia drivers could rebuild the image in anaglyph 3d or using the lcd glasses.

use Nvidia 3d vision technology too
Nvidia drivers now are a standard, bettern than Tridef or iZ3d.
Unfortunately only 3d games use this technology or few 2d video players.
I could render two virtual 3d (not photograph) images and rotate them in realtime perceiving the depth...

Hello Sam,

The NPP of your reply is a little off-set ;-)
In fact a 3D spherical pano can be made with traditional software and if you accept the limits(*) of the method it can be even done with a single camera and a fisheye lens.
(*) there is a timeshift between the left and right eye pano of a few seconds and in all scenes with movements in it this is unwanted and spoiling the 3D experience.

BTW, a lot of the traditional problems with red/cyan anaglyph are solved when using the ColorCode 3D system. Despite what a lot of people are thinking the ColorCode 3D system is not so very expensive, the software is reasonable priced and the viewers are only a little more expensive and when you output the panos in StereoPhotoMaker in yellow/blue (after flipping right & left of the stereo images) instead of red/cyan then you don't even need to purchase the ColorCode 3D software.
