Hallo,

I´m not sure this is the right panel, but I´ve got a question to feed a pano2vr flash file with a object VR movie. I have seen one at the webpage of Erik Leeman. Really really good work! But i couldn´t find any hint how to do something like this. I mean, I can input a Object VR file easely and afterwards I´ll see it in the Pano VR movie, but can not turn the object around.

Woul be great to get some inspiration.
Thanxxx!

The panorama you get out of Pano2VR is a regular flash swf file. It is made with number of different classes, written in action script 2.0 or 3.0.
There is absolutely no difference from regular flash file, what Pano2VR does is automates the process of making one, so you don't require flash skills
and the Adobe Flash program itself to get it done.

Flash has the ability to load multiple swf files in levels. The panorama you have, always reside in level zero within flash player, any other loaded file
will appear on top of the main level (level0), like level 1,2,3,4..999.... unless you load it in level zero, which will replace whatever content was loaded before,
because flash player can't hold two files within the same level.

Anyway, my point is, what you see is not actual VR file. It's a simple carousel made in regular Flash application and not with Pano2VR or any VR tool. Judging
by the quality of image it's a flash 8 file. The bitmap handling in AS 3.0 is much more refine then AS 2.0. On top of it, looking at the animation being really rough, i'm sure it is a simple frame by frame images sequence, imported to Flash into movie clip and run frame by frame, making the impression of spinning image. Then the rotation of the sniping icons it is simply control using coordinates based on your current mouse position. Honestly speaking, it's a quite simple Flash stuff, if you into flash of course :)

I didn't try it myself, but perhaps instead of loading another panorama file into current panorama, he just loads regular SWF files made with Adobe flash,
adding that kind of effect to it. Regardless, I can assure it's just a flash file, nothing special. If you like that carousel effect, Google for "flash
carousel" and trust me, you find countless free source samples.

Hi
At the moment it’s not possible to load an Object2VR swf file; however you can create an object with Object2VR and use Pano2VR to open the html page, using the action Go To Url. :)

I don’t want to go into any detail on how to load external images as this subject has been covered more than once in the forum.

Also as the Object swf’s I have used are not from Object2VR, I don’t want to go there either.
What we need is Object2VR outputting a swf that can be used. This will give us the cool effect of opening the object in the panorama and having the active skin.

Please see the two examples.

1 With pano2VR and Flash, Objects in the panorama.

2 With Pano2VR and Object2VR, Objects loaded in the html window.

Please note from my website I open the Panorama in a chromeless window so all the skin element of both the Panorama and the Objects are in view. Opening it without this hides the bottom of the Objects Skin.

I am not quite sure which one I prefer, the first one has the advantage of going full screen and the effect of opening the object in the panorama, but then no active load bar or skin elements.

The second has the advantage of having a larger image and the skin elements.

Hopki

Hi all.

The simple carousel you see in the example was based on 3-part ActionScript 2 (Flash) tutorial that you can find here: http://www.gotoandlearn.com.
Instead of the usual objects it loads a number of instances of the same external(!) simple Flash8 animation that was generated from an image sequence by Adobe Image Ready CS2. Simple-simple-simple, all very simple, yeah, but that was not the point.

The point was (and still is) that this example shows that not only is it possible to insert simple external static images into Pano2VR Flash panoramas using the 'text method', but also interactive content that ITSELF uses external content. Until then it was thought (possibly even by someone who is VERY intimate with Pano2VR) that this was not (yet) possible at all. After that first experiment I also inserted some simple interactive object movies with their own hotspots and sound effects, a simple interactive spinning textured PaperVision 3D cube, a tutorial for which can also be found on http://www.gotoandlearn.com, a simple animation that is 'fixed' to a hotspot, and a couple of simple external video files, both On2 VP6 and H.264 compressed.
Unfortunately these external elements cannot be controlled directly by Pano2VR skin elements, which is a pity.

As Hopki already wrote, the (simple) method I used to insert these external elements was explained in detail (several times) in the skin forum.

@ Hopki: those object movies I made for you can have their own skin elements, but you wanted them without any, remember?

Cheers!

Erik

Hi Erik
You are quite right. :D

But I don’t want to get involved with Flash in the forum, as you say, just show what’s possible.

I was referring to the overlays made by the Skin Editor; I like the idea that after spending loads of time making an overlay/skin in Pano2VR you can use it in Objet2VR.

By the by, I have had a play with the FLA and yes it works perfectly in my old Flash 8, cool, and thanks for the pointer  .

Although being able to produce objects that can be used using Flash, I want to push for the swf’s made by Object2VR to be able to do as we can with the Flash objects.

This will make an awesome bit of software even better.

No rush, but now would be good Thomas

All the best

Hey everyone,

many thanks for all advices. For now I could not solve my problem with the carousel or the 3d objekt within the panorama. Hopefully it needs only more time and not skills I don´t have.
Thank you again. If someone has more hints, please feel free...

Hallo again,

now I tried a lot but with only intermingled success.
The following I could managed:
after click on a button/little picture I can see a youtube-video or a normal flash file. Even a ObjectVR file is possible to include but without controll it. For all that I used the "text-method" like this

Code: Select all

<img src="../test/1.swf">
or

Code: Select all

<img src="http://www.youtube.com/v/s4eU0ppDihY&hl=de&fs=1" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344">
What still doesn´t work is to see swf- or video files in the panorama from the beginning. I mean without press a button to start. (like in Eriks excample) Here the Text-Method does not work. Is there something need in "action/modification"? Insert a "Picture" or "Button" as swf is not possible in Pano2VR.
(in the meantime I solved this problem)

Also a problem is still to insert a controllable objectvr file. Ok, Hopki said, it is possible to open a html with include the objectVR-file. But how can I open it within the flashfile?

@ Sebastian
I created a flash carousel but still can not open it? I insert it like you see above.

@ Erik
I am not sure if I could understand you in a right way but I tried to integrate this carousel like i wrote above. But it does still not work and slowly I become crazy. Where is the mistake???

Many thanks to everyone for the support!

Loading only '3dcarouseldev.swf' on its own will do nothing, you also need the rest of the files that comprises the carousel.
If you didn't make it yourself it will be difficult to find out what files you need to make the set complete.

Please note that the 'text method' is not a feature of Pano2VR itself, and as such it is not officially supported by GardenGnome Software.
I only shared the information about it and the experiments I based on it to demonstrate the possibilities, hoping Thomas would consider making something similar (and hopefully much better) available to us in Pano2VR. So far there has been no indication what so ever that he will do so.

Hi Erik,

the carouseldev-file it´s not made by myself but I think I have all the files I need. If you want you can have a look on it. I ´ve packed all file into a zip (300kb) and you can download it here. Maybe there must be more script into the text-line. I keep trying!!!!!

I know it´s just an experiments but I´m really enthused what possibilities are practicable know. Thanks for your help!
