During installation of the latest version (2.2.2) on Windows Vista 64 the installation program adds 24 files (total 3 MB) to the root directory of my G: disk (my image archive). It is not cleaned after (successful) installation. I discovered the files earlier; I expect by installation of 2.2.0 and 2.2.1.

This is the list of files:

It’s no big deal I just report it ;-).

If you need any other information or environment setting I can (try to) provide it. If wanted I can repeat test on more platforms (I have small collection of vmware images to test software and website with different Windows/Ubuntu versions and/or browsers)

Ohhh, thx for the hint. After some research I found out that this is a Microsoft bug and should be fixed with Visual Studio 2008 SP1. I am currently installing it so with the next version this should not happen any more. You can safely delete those files.

Thomas,

As a side note with Vista 32 we always get the pop-up error after installation that it appears not to have installed correctly. Where you get the chance to hit a button "Yes it has" or words to that effect.

You are right; after I closed Pano2VR (after a long day of work  ) it reported the same error at Vista 64

Ahhh...... Did you check "Run Pano2VR" after the installation? Can you please try it again with unchecked "run Pano2VR"?

I installed version 2.2.2 over 2.2.2 and unchecked "run Pano2VR". The files are still there. (Vista64)

I installed 2.2.0 (In Dutch and did not check the run-box) on Windows XP SP3 (Vmware Player) and the files are also not cleaned after installation.
I remmoved the files and upgrade to 2.2.2 (in englis this time) the files are still not removed.

If you like I can do some more testing. Beceause I use vmware I can make sure the Windows XP version does not have any Pano2VR files from previous installs. I use a clean XP SP3 version. (Or SP0, SP1 SP2)

Hope it helps...

Thx, but the files are always there because of the MS bug. This will be fixed with then next release. I meant the error message "Was the install successful" thing.

oops; reading hard

Sorry on Vista 32 upgrade from 2.2.1 to 2.2.2 the "Was the install successful thing" error message still pops-up :(

If I remember well XP did not give an error message...

update:
The error message asks to re-install it; the second time no error message...
