Hello All,

Do you know what are the advantages and drawbacks of various pano formats, equitrectangular or cube (strip, tee, cross, etc.)

When generating panos from a model, the above formats are available.

I can't generate cylindrical, full or partial, or spherical panos, but, perhaps those would be worth discussing too.

One cube format is a strip that has both the left and the right eye cube faces in a single file. There are 12 squares representing the two cubes, left and right eye, all next to each other.

How does one bring such a single stereo VR strip into Pano2VR? The file size is about six times larger than pairs of left/right equirectangular or left/right cubes (strips, tees, cross, etc.) not just twice. The attached copy was reduced in quality to allow for uploading here.

When inserted in a MAP floor plan, the choice is only left or right. It is not clear if the two halves will be used to generate a stereo VR output.

Any help with determining which projection would be best in Pano2VR would be great and suggestion or links to other discussions about using stereo pano nodes would be great.

Thanks,

Nf

Hi NaderF,
Pano2VR supports a stereo strip, so one strip of 12 cube faces.
Or over and under, Equirectangular image.
