Alt text for pop-up Images

Hi,

I have been trying to get ALT text to import correctly in my panoramas using a variable for a pop-up image hotspot.
It works fine if I set the alt text to a variable placeholder such as $(hs) or $(hd). But those placeholders are set to be used elsewhere on the hotspot.

If I try to use a custom property (BETA7) setup for this purpose, and enter the custom variable it either leaves the alt text blank on output, or puts "null" in there as text.

Any help on setting this up so different alt text can be used for different pop-up images on a panorama, or a link to a tutorial video?

Would be very helpful if the alt text for images was a field in the hotspot property, below the Title and Description fields.

Regards
Paul

Hi Paul,
I can only guess you are using the custom properties Hotspot Variable.
The data in the Hotspot Custom property is only available when your mouse is over the hotspot.
What you need to do is use a Set Value action to the external image loader setting the Parameter to Alternative Text.
The value will be the Hotspots Custom Vale placeholder.
So what will happen is when you click the hotspot the custom property variable text can be "set" to the external Image Loaders Alt Text.
The alt text will then stay with the External image loader until another hotspot is clicked.
Please see the attached project.

Hi Hopki,

Brilliant thank you, I didn't realise custom ones had to be value set beforehand to show when hover/clicked. I should have figured that out. Just thought my settings were at fault!

Cheers
Paul
