Greetings all. Doing my head in: I have completed a huge 360 project using Image files, all hotspots linked together, and now I want to create a video tour with 360 videos of same locations. SO. can someone tell me how to create poster image when I load in a 360 video under an existing 360 image, - when I drag and drop videos into Pano2VR it does it automatically, but this is NOT what i want, as I want to USE the EXISTING panorama hotspots - not recreate the entire tour again. I cannot seem to get this to work which is very frustrating as it would save me WEEKS of redoing the entire tour. I have ffmpeg installed.

Kind regards, Glenn

Hi Glenn,

I don't think you can automatically create a poster image when you load a 360 video under an existing 360 image.

There are a couple of workflows you can follow:

1. Using Pano2VR (fastest)

a. Start a new project, drag all your videos at one go into the Tour Browser
b. Pano2VR will generate poster images (.tif) for each video and save the image in the same folder/location as the video
c. Load your 360 videos under your existing panorama with the hotspots
d. Add the poster frames to the Input image panel in Properties Panorama

2. Using VLC

a. Open your video in VLC
b. Select Menu > Video > Snapshot
c. Load your 360 videos under your existing panorama with the hotspots
d. Add the poster frames to the Input image panel in Properties Panorama

I'd use 1. because it does it all at once.

Hi CreAitken,
First, select a node and add your 360 video, then right button click on the panorama file path and select Clear.

This then shows the Holodeck but with the video controls at the bottom.

Use the "Grab frame from video panorama" button to extra a frame and use it in the viewer.

It will now show the frame in the viewer.

Wow :D that is pretty obscure but very cool. Must add that to the Pano2VR Tips book :P
