Hi,
Right now I have ht_node skin element at the bottom, and ht_info over it again. Yet, popup text boxes appear in-between the nodes. I'm confused now on how the layering here works.

Hi SHjelle,
It depends on which part of the software you are working in and what is overlapping what.
For example, if you have 10 point hotspots in a node, the order in the list view will dictate the order of which one is more forward, in the list view the lower an element, the last hotspot added will be more forward than the hotspot at the top of the list. However, in the list view, you can rearrange point hotspots.

In the skin editors tree, the higher up the tree the more forward an element is, but you can again move its position in the tree or adjust its z-index in the properties of the element.
If you are talking about the map pins, then in the map element you have settings:

Here you can use the Tour browser, so the node furthest right will be more forward, again you can rearrange the node order in the tour browser, but this will also affect all menus.
Or you can use the Pin Order setting, for example, if you have tooltips above your map pin you will select Bottom to top, so the tooltip from a lower map pin covers the map pin above it.
There are other settings you can use if your tooltip is to one side or shows under the map pin.
