Hello everyone,
Over the past year a friend and I have started a virtual tour service in San Francisco. We've delivered about 10 tours so far and have been self-hosting using AWS.
In an effort to make our hosting process easier I have been working on a simple uploader app for our tours. I've recently finished the uploader and I believe may be useful for other Pano2VR users.
Would anyone be interested in uploading some of their outputs and relaying some feedback?
Drag & Drop Virtual Tour Hosting Uploader
Hi,
Sounds interesting. I'm currently uploading with CLI and I'd be interested to try your uploader.
cheers,
Tony

Hi Teddy,
Thanks for the invite. I've uploaded a tour and I've got some feedback for you.
Tour URL: https://tdn.hostmy.tours/grytviken-vr-tour
Tour Size: 416.3 MB for 7,416 items
Upload Time HostMy: 10 min 42 sec
I also did an upload via CLI to my own S3 bucket
Tour URL: https://expedition.photography/GrytvikenVR/
Upload Time CLI: 1 min 44 sec
Obviously, there is a difference as the HostMy is on a server in the US while I'm uploading to a server in Sydney.
In regard to the hosting site I thought the number of characters for the Tour name and Description could have been slightly more than 30 & 250, perhaps 50 & 300?
If I need to update just a file or two do I have to delete the current tour and upload a whole new tour or can I just replace some specific files ie skin.js?
Cheers,
Tony

Tony,
That's right, the server is located in the US. I agree that the character limits can be greater. I've pushed out an update to address character limits and adjusted upload logic to better handle larger outputs.
Right now you would have to delete and re-upload the tour. I'm going to add single file tour updates to my feature list.
Thanks for taking the time Tony.
Best,
Teddy

Tony,
I thoroughly enjoyed the tour you uploaded. Nice work! I've been referencing it as I try to recreate your animated lollipop node elements.
I'm finding it particularly difficult to add animated text descriptions and trigger those animations when the node is within scroll view.
Do you have any tips on how I can achieve this?
