Historically I made this (almost 200-node) virtual tour: https://360trips.cz/wp-content/uploads/ ... index.html

Now, my client wants to improve the tour further. Their idea being there will be a map of the building (image below) where the viewer should see where he currently is (highlighted segment of the floor). He shall also be able to move into a different segment of the building by clicking on the map. Of course, there are multiple nodes in every segment, and it's not possible to show all of them in the map.

Any idea how to make this in an efficient way?

My thinking drives me into dividing all the nodes into segments and assigning them distinct floor levels. Then pretend segments are actually floors and by switching floors. When the user transitions into a node from a different segment, the map switches to another jpeg, and a new segment are highlighted. Do you think, is my logic is OK?

Looks like a doable job, but maybe somebody of you sees a problem already, or better possibly a better way how to do it. Help is much appreciated.

As a thought…
You could use a Pano2VR project to make high resolution flat images.
So start with a image like what you are showing g in the post. As you click on a level you see the face down version with all the nodes/ map pins.
Theses would be clickable taking you to the node.
The flat images would be zoom able and you may also want a set of navigation and zoom buttons in the floor plan. See this webinar for some ideas: https://ggnome.com/gg_webinars/embeddin ... -projects/

Wow, an incredibly fast answer Hopki!
To be honest, I do not follow your idea completely but I hope I will get it after I see this webinar. Thank you for now.
