Hi all,

I have a request, would it be possible to create an annotation 'notepad' inside the skin editor?

Currently I'm sorting through older tours and there are sometimes things happening where I wonder how I did that and where I find all the snippets/logic blocks. And today I wanted to implement the screenshot button in another skin and was frustrated for half an hour before I realised I had to also load normal_screenshot.ggt.

As a workaround I'm now trying to anotate by creating invisible tekst boxes, that helps but is not ideal.

It would be very helpfull to have a notepad in the editor to describe skin aspects. Shouldn't be that hard to build I think?

kind regards, Frank

Hi Frank,

I'd recommend using the Component Toolbox as a form of annotation 'notepad' as it not only allows you to store notes about the element but also the variables, logic blocks etc.

For example, you could create a component out of the screenshot button and in the Information/Description field add in the information about the requirement to use the normal_screenshot.ggt. Then all you have to do is click on the component and it's in the skin, fully configured.

Here's one I've done for a button that opens a Mapbox map inside a responsive surround. The component has a number of elements, including Skin Configuration Variables, that go to make up the final display as seen in the skin shot below:

These elements are then saved as a component and additional information added to them including tags for finding them in the search function;

The big advantage is the feature that the Component Toolbox is available on any skin so you don't have to locate an old one to view the information specific to the element.

Here's the final output: https://p2vr.s3-ap-southeast-2.amazonaw ... index.html

Hi Tony,

Thanks! It took me a minute to realise you inadvertently posted the same image thrice :)

This will help for any components, I have overlooked this.

Is anything similar in the main window? It would be nice to be able to keep notes on project basis too :)

regards, Frank
