Hi all,
a new pano2vr project has grown and grown and grown. Now it is 1.23 Gigabytes in size.
It has 69 panoramas, 66 of them "regular" size, their equirectangular jpegs habe approximately 50 mb each,, 3 of them high resolution, their equis have approximately 350mb each. And a big 360° video (it still has to be shortened and reduced in length) that now has an uncut size of approximately 750 mb.
To shrink the panoramas, what can i do? In the "picture" dicision of the tpur properties i have a quality field. I dont really see any effect, only small changes in size. What can i do else?
And no, i dont want to reduce pixels to lower size.
Greetings from germany
Chris

Hi Chris,
Are you talking about the input file size, the one you need to look at is the output folders file size.
But things that can effect size is the quality setting, default is 90, you can probably drop that sown to 70 - 80.
Also the level tile size, the default is 510px. You could try 1022px.
Larger tiles fewer images. But then load tiles would be longer.
Then after the outputs are made you could use something like jpegmini, I know some that use this and say it reduces the file size a lot. Not tried it myself.
Regards,

I am talking about the output size.
The input size is "big giants my hard disk is large enough to hold it".
Hmm, maybee i will give jpegmini a chance.
Tile size, hmm, i will let it by 510, due to loading speed..
Quality setting i already have set to 75, maybe 70 or 65 get a chance.
Thank you for the hints, i didnt know that something like jpegmini exists.
greetings rom germany
Chris
ps.: whow, sunday, fast response!
ps2: is Hopki a single person that 24/7 sits in the forum board, or is it a synonym for a working group?

Full success.
Editing the video, and setting its quality from high to low, has changed its size from 750 to 130 mb, which had the biggest contribution to success, plus changing picture quality to 65, has shrunken the complete tour from 1.32 GB to 540 MB.
Thank you, perfect support as always. And all this on a sunday.

HOPKI is an Anagram for the Heuristic Online Parallel Kludge Interface. This is a very special AI unit, encased in a somewhat human looking exterior and it operates 24x7 just for us

Ah, yesss, i see. An ai unit that needs a hundred times of money, time, and effort to be developed than pano2vr itself
So NOW i know where my money i intended to give for pano2vr really goes to.
Greetings from Germany to Australia.
