www.Umapper.com is a new platform for creating and embedding maps. You can create your map online, supported are Microsoft Virtual Earth, Google, OpenStreetMap and Yahoo. Umapper generates also the embedding code to integrate the map in a html page.

Maybe it's possible to put this code into a sliding window inside the skin?

Example for Umapper embed code:

Code: Select all

<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0" id="umapper_embed_10349" width="500" height="300"> <param name="FlashVars" value="kmlPath=http://www.umapper.com/download/maps/kml/10349.kml" /> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /> <param name="movie" value="http://umapper.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/swf/embed.swf" /> <param name="src" value="http://umapper.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/swf/embed" /> <param name="name" value="umapper_embed_10349" /> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <embed src="http://umapper.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/swf/embed.swf" FlashVars="kmlPath=http://www.umapper.com/download/maps/kml/10349.kml" allowScriptAccess="always" quality="high" width="500" height="300" name="umapper_embed_10349" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /> </object>

ThomasK - OK

.... but in my requests there is much more advantage:

1. Partial place... custom brand navigate maps
2. Using any content - inclusive hand-paint maps, interior floor-plans, original schemes, creative concept (like as old-time stylistic maps)...and more
3. Using by Flat images (projection) for partial horizontal and vertical Flat panoramas...
4. Any graphical module zooming interactive content (like as artist's picture reproduction from virtual tour via Pictures Galleries \ Museum)...
5. CD-ROM publishing

Also, there is much photographers to work with pure flat panoramic contents (linear partial panorama photo)....

*This attractiveness of the Pano2VR product...

The map is already flat, why would one need to use a pano viewer such as Pano2VR to view such a graphic? Maybe I'm missing something here. There are tons of Flash components one can buy to accomplish this, assuming you don't want to code it yourself in Flash. BTW, Google map now allows you to overlay your own graphics on top of existing Gmaps.

I have the same sort of request for flat vertical aerial photography. It could probably be done by creating a partial panorama with a total FOV set to a very small value (say 1 degree) ; however, il seems that values lower than 1° cannot be input, so that resonnable maximum zoom (say 0.01°) cannot be input. If there were no limitation on the lowest value possible then flat images would be reasonnably well approximated to very small partial panoramas (sure,it would be an overkill , but it seems to me very simple to implement)
