Hi all!

I wonder if it would be possible to use a variable text in an External URL. Reason is, I would like to create a robust slideshow which 'knows' which pano is currently shown and loads the slide accordingly.
For example, a slideshow correctly starts loading an external image with

[stills/01.02/00.jpg]
(this means: pano 01, slideshow 02, image 00.jpg)

I've put the active slideshow in variable 'Slideshow', 'Slideshow'= '01.02'. So I would expect that

[stills/$(*Slideshow)/00.jpg]

loads the external image regardless of the specific slideshow. Funny thing is, it doesn't. Any thoughts?

Cheers!

I hope it's ok I bump this topic? Solving this issue would significantly reduce project building and might help others too.

This should be possible but may require some javascript. I'm going to play around with it and see if I can come up with something.

Yeah that's a very good topic.
Actually, I have a similar need, which is to set a variable to a certain value from within hyperlinks inserted in text areas within the skin.
So the scenario is the following :

In a text area,

1/ an <a href ...> would trigger the variable change, which could affect the skin on click. Cannot figure out the syntax yet. I guess [ set value ]...
2/ quite close, I am also trying to find a way to use an <a href ...> to load a url into an existing iframe defined in the skin. Same thing. I tried to target the iframe but could not go through yet.

It would indeed be great to get some sort of quick reference to figure this out.
It must be doable within pano2vr, without having to add external js, I guess... as variables are there already.

Hi Karyn,

Nice, I hope I'll find my answers there. If not, I'll probably learn some other useful things :D

Hi Dennis,
The thought process for making galleries has gone full circle.
Back in the day, I made galleries using Pano2VR 4 pro.
.
Then as time moved on and the skin editor got more functions I made a gallery using the skin.
But revisiting making the gallery using Pano2VR this is probably the best way, I have come up with yet another method of building a gallery which uses the skin configuration button where you tell the skin how many images and the name of the folder the pictures are in.

But still, this can be a bit troublesome when adding more than one per project, I have made versus feature requests to see if Thomas and Christoph can overcome these problems.

But to date, the best way is using Pano2VR to build the gallery and then embed it using an iframe.
The embedding webinar covered this and the video will be up in a few days.

The trick with this is once you have a gallery skin, it takes no time at all to build them.
The files used and project created will also be available for download from our webinar page when done.

Hopki
