force youtube video to be played at hd resolution

I'm testing my projects on different machines.
I noticed on some machine the youtube video plays at sd resolution by default. I have to manually change it to hd and it plays smoothly without any buffering.
Is there any way to force the hd resolution?

So it looks like you can not force it from the player.
