Is it possible to have linked videos instead of local ones? I'd like to put up the rest of my VR tour's assets on my server and link the 360 video assets on vimeo. Is this possible? A feature request? TIA.
cheers

Hi Don,

Yes just use the Video - Vimeo Point Hotspot.

Here's a sample using a video shot in Bagan, Myanmar on a Xiaomi Mijia, and stitched in iPhone.

When you do that, is it possible to have the video stay the same aspect ratio as much as possible and reduce the borders around it until it is forced to rescale? i.e. in your example if you narrow the browser to a square or 4:3ish aspect then the video also resizes to square/4:3. If you narrow it further to a portrait/mobile aspect - or view it on an actual mobile - you get a tall thin video which is just showing a centre portion of your 360 video, with a large border around it. You can't adjust the FoV to move backwards by using your fingers to zoom out, nor does the Full Screen Vimeo button work (testing on Android and mobile Firefox)

On a portrait mode/mobile aspect it would be useful if the borders could (almost?) disappear to fit the video more fully in the centre and the FoV was adjustable, if it doesn't auto-correct. Is that down to Vimeo ignoring 'finger scaling', or it is an option?

At the moment the element holding the video is set to percentage scale, if you change it to a fixed pixel amount you can set a 16:9 ratio. At the moment you can't set a fixed ratio using percentage, hopefully this will be resolved in V7 when it arrives.

Youtube, Vimeo, and other services are fixed FoV for 360˚ videos. On the iPhone it won't play inside Pano2VR it asks you to open the Vimeo Video Player and when you do open it in the player there is no zoom option.

Here's a sample showing a basic YouTube video added using Pano2VR hotspot and one using iFrame and CSS that removes the black borders. https://p2vr.s3-ap-southeast-2.amazon ... index.html

Hi Tony,

The link has an extra . at the start, which needs to be removed and neither of them will play the video itself "An error occurred, please try again later", but the shape of the one that keeps the aspect ratio correct looks better IMO.

Is it possible for that border to shrink completely left/right on mobile?

As this isn't standard behaviour, is this a candidate for one of your quick tutorials? :)

OK that works for 2D video, done that. You're saying that a 360 video can be done in this manner too?

OK so here's the problem with the above solution. It opens up a new window in vimeo taking one out of the VR tour. I haven't figured out how to get it to go back after playing is finished either. If I add the 360 video as another node then link to it I don't have these problems.

My issue still is then how can I link the 360 video nodes outside of the videos folder in my site. I have over 9gb of 360 video that I want to use another cheaper video server (vimeo) for. Does this make sense? TIA
