visitor counter

Hello,
I'm looking for a way to implement a visitor counter (website counter) in my project.
My first idea was to implemente a PHP script and modify the index.html. But with this solution it is necessary to rename the index.html in index.php. But after this renaming the pano-site doesn't work anymore.

Maybe some of you have an idea (or solution) how it is possible to show the visitors on the site (overall / today / last hour / actually).

If it's possible with "pano2vr-own tools" would be the best solution. In that case I can implement a code-lock for that kind of "statistic box".
