Hi!
I am testing h264 mp4 video in pano2vr and want to share what I have learned so far. Any ideas and questions are very welcome.

Initially I used the patches (A) tool to cut an image patch from the pano. I used this patch to make sure that the video-camera in my 3d-software records video of the exact correct region.
I created the video and then changed the patch in pano from image to video and selected the .mp4 file that should be played. I tried it with 2 patches and tested the result in different browser in my WIN10 PC.

Result:
Firefox 75.0 plays both video clips at the correct position in good qualitiy. I can move the pano around and the videos still play in loop and its all good.
Internet Explorer 11 dont play the videos but shows the patches frame and something like a single pixel of the video streched to the size of the frame.
EDGE 44 dont play the videos but shows the patches frame and something like a single pixel of the video streched to the size of the frame.
Chrome 81 plays one of the two videos, als long as I dont turn around in the pano. once i move, both videos behave like in IE and EDGE.

I was interested in finding out more and tried 2 different setups.

Setup 1: Only one video that was initially a image patch and then got changed to video, this in the top one. Below, you see the same .mp4 just added to the pano directly with Videos (V).
Result: The video on the top behaves same like in the initial test, nothing was changed here. The video below (still the same .mp4) plays in all four tested browsers.

Setup 2: I deleted the patch and put only the video via Videos (A) onto the pano and moved it to the correct positon where the deleted patch was.
Result: Firefox still works perfect, like expected. IE and EDGE blur the video like it would not have enough resolution. Chrome playes the video and it looks good untill in move the pano. Then, the video seems to change resolution and looks blocky.

I have no clue so far why only firefoxs is playing everything fine. I will keep researching and let you know when I know more. Thank you for your feedback!

Interested to know if you have had any luck getting a video patch to match on a Mac. I have a patch that looks fine on the PC but is not matching on a Mac. Here's an example:

In particular, is there a codec that would work best?

A hack : I fixed this with an identically sized and positioned image patch over the top of the video. I made a transparent PNG to act as a mask. Works well, and still captures the mouse clicks on the video.
