Hi Martin et all!

Please have a look at the https://s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com/p ... index.html project which also includes different sounds on each pano.

Recently the sounds stopped playing on Google Chrome and Apple Safari browsers, they do however play nicely when viewed on Microsoft EDGE.

Any idea why this is happening, and possible fixes?

Many thanks!

Hello!

You'll probably find that if you have sounds set to autoplay, the Chrome and Safari browsers do not allow autoplay of video or sound. The user must click a play button in order to play the video or sound. The easiest way round this is to tie a 'play sound' action to the hotspot so it tricks the browser in to thinking the user has clicked to play the sound. Hopefully this makes sense.

Many thanks,

Chris

Hi,

I've just checked your coding and both the Chrome and Safari browsers are indeed blocking the 'play()' function as you have this set to autoplay onload. You will need to move the 'play()' function to 'onclick' for either the hotspot itself or a button on the skin. If you need help with this, let me know and I can take a look.

Many thanks,

Chris

Many thanks Chris for pointing me to the problem and offering help!!!

I am trying to use the solution via Hopki's proposed solution by a button on the skin. What I am unable to find however is how to stop the 'autoplay' function.

Thank you Hopki!

I must be doing something wrong. If you got time I would appreciate if you could have a look at the project file!?

The project file looks ok, do you have any actions in the skin that could trigger a sound?

Thing is that each Pano has got its own individual background sound. That's why I was trying to activate sound via the sound button. but obviously I am not able to get it working.

I am using poligon hotspots to switch from/to different panos, and also a floor plan and point hotspots. So I would try to avoid to assign an action to all three triggers.

I'd like to show another funny thing:

Same project with different language: https://panoxk.s3.eu-central-1.amazonaw ... index.html

On Desktop/Chrome the sounds do not play
On iPhone 7+ / Chrome the sounds play automatically

Hi there,

same for me:
sound on project was ok for months. Now no starting of sound in Chrome and IOS. Still OK on Firefox (Windows + Android) and IE.

Sound is started by button, MP3 and OGG-alternative included. Made with Pano2VR5 pro.

Still having a http-address instead of https (if this could be the problem).

Any idea for this? Thank you.

Sounds can be found on top level near organ.
Programming not smart but when starting the project variables were still new to me.

... recalculation with Pano2VR 6.1 solved the problem.

Thanks
