Hello!

In the online documentation for version 6 there is an option to disable the keyboard under "Control" in the "Output" interface. See attached.

I have version 6.1.2 installed and it is missing this option. See attached.

I discovered this after finding that zooming in and out via Shift/Ctrl wasn't working. I'd like to restore this functionality. Please advise.

Many thanks!

Hi,
Version 6.1.2 does not have any mapped keys.
So it’s not needed.
Can I ask why you need this option?
In the skin editor you can map custom keys if you need them.
But good call about the documentation.

Hi, Hopki--

Thanks for the quick response. I wasn't aware of mapping custom keys. I'll look into that.

Since the keyboard option was in the documentation, I thought there was a problem with 6.1.2 and was considering rolling my version back to fix the issue.

Have a great day!

Hi, again!

I was able to map the Shift and Ctrl keys to zoom in and out. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Here is the output:

I apologize if my next question is documented somewhere. I tried looking before submitting yet another post...

How do I now enable zoom in/out on touch screens? The current output does allow pinch zooming in and out on a touch screen.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Kris,
Odd, pinch zoom should work.
I can only think the viewing parameters are stopping it.
What are they set to?

Hi, Hopki--

Thanks for getting back to me!

Attached are the viewing parameters for all nodes.

Hi Kris,
If you look at the Field of View (Zoom), you have set the min to 35 degrees.
And the Max for Rectilinear is 70 degrees.

The defaults are Min FoV 5 degrees and Max is 120.

Hi, Hopki--

Pinch zoom in/out on touch screens will not work unless I use default FOV values?

I had the same viewing parameter settings, 35 degrees min. and 70 degrees max., for an earlier single node version of the tour that was authored with Pano2VR version 5. Pinch zoom in/out works as expected on that version: https://launchfilm.com/lakefront4/

Thanks for helping me with this!

I googled to learn about normal eye preception:

https://www.google.com/search?q=Normal+ ... e&ie=UTF-8

Found this

What is the view angle of the human eye?
Our eyes are the natural start of perception of FOV. In human vision, the field of view is composed of two monocular FOVs which our brains stitch together to form one binocular FOV. Individually, our eyes have a horizontal FOV of about 135 degrees and a vertical FOV of just over 180 degrees.

So we use Horizontal Field of view FOV
(MIN) or zoom IN 50° so that the visitor will not be able to zoom IN so far to see pixelation.
(MAX) zoom OUT 110° to prevent barrel distortion like looking into a tunnel.

But then you probably already knew this

I need to do some more troubleshooting...

In trying to figure out what is going on I output the prior single node version (originally output by version 5) through Pano2VR version 6 to see if the problem was caused by the version of Pano2VR. Pinch zoom in/out works fine so that wasn't it.
https://launchfilm.com/lakefront4outputfrom6/

I made a simple single node version of the current eight node site (https://launchfilm.com/lakefront) that is not allowing pinch zoom in/out with the keyboard zoom controls deleted to see if adding the keyboard controls caused the problem and I am having the same problem:
https://launchfilm.com/lakefrontnokeyboardzoom/

Clearly, I have done something that is preventing pinch zoom in/out to function properly. I suspect the problem is in the skin...

I'll update this post after I dig deeper.

Thanks,
Kris
