Hi,

I've just compleated a tour with Google Maps around Lynton and Lynmouth in North Devon - England. With help I must say from Vincent Ogloblinsky. Here it is -

http://www.sphereworks.co.uk/google_map_lynton.php

At the moment the images open small with a 2-3mb full screen image, with the option within the toolbar to open full screen. I think I asked a while back..... will it be posible to start with a small image which links to a full screen one as it does now but without loading the large one first? It can be done with FPP (not that I understand how that works).

Thanks,

Pete

When visiting this page locate and click a circle blue arrow. This downloads and displays a 1.5mb image in a small window. Click the toolbar double redboxes and it displays the same 1.5 image into a full screen. Only 1 image is used.

The music can be turned off - see box under the map.

Yes but can we start off with a small 500kb image which loads into a larger 2-3 mb one without browser junk around it ??? I want the first image that pops up small to open as quickly as it can. As I have it at the moment some people will think it's not working and turn it off.

Cheers,

Pete

Hello Pete,

On my system (MacBookPro with OSX and Safari browser) the pano is not showed, all I get is a large piece of white screen with text above and below it ....
Success in solving this platform issue.

Firehell has this feature on his application http://cq.panomap.cn. You can see the small thumbnail on the map, the pano opens in low resolution first and you can click to see the highres version of the pano.

There is also an english version available of the script at http://cq.panomap.cn but it runs only on a Windows webserver with ASP and MSSQL. It would be fine to do a conversion of the whole script into PHP/MySQL, but it's quite difficult to find a programmer for this task. Currently I'm looking for somebody to do the conversion for the Apache hosting.

Yes this is the problem.... you have to wait a few moments for the 2-3mb image to load. I want to start with a small 400kb image and open to a large one. All you see to start off with is a white box with the text above it untill the image has fully loaded. Please have another go.... if it still isn't working I'd like to know.

Yes this works, but I didn't really want to open the larger image via a text link - though I'm thinking this might be the best way right now. I know I can link to another webpage from within a VR image, this is also another option but I would much rather it open up a full screen pano without a browser.

Sorry Pete, I forgot to tell that the white space is showed even after a long wait and that there is no pano download at all.....
