I am attempting to create a 30 sec. UHD (3840 x 2160 frame size) video @ 30 frames/sec. from a Flat image that I stitched using Autopano Giga. It is a 1.89 Gigapixel image measuring 25,899 x 73078 pixels. I setup Pano2VR to create a series of tiff files from which to render the video. I have setup the Animation to zoom from the view shown in the first image below into the summit of Half Dome. The first 143 frames of the 901 frame series have a strange mult-panel effect going on. In the second image there are 4 equally sized images. As they progress the top pair of frames slowly moves toward the top of the image. I have included 4 examples from among the 143 frames. When I play the rendered video you see these frames disappear of the top of the screen. These 4 frames are equivalent to standard HD 1920 x 1080 frame size.

I am wondering if I am trying to push Pano2VR beyond it's capabilities. My goal is to create a UHD (4K) video tour of my photos. Ultimately, I would like to create 8K videos (7680 x 4320) videos.

OK, I believe I have answered at least part of my question. It seems that the Animation tool of P2VR is only capable of creating 3:2 ratio frames. It's default seems to be 1080 x720 which is the old Standard Definition frame ratio. I have been attempting to use the HD 16:9 ratio or 1280x720 or 1920x1080. Anytime I attempt to use anything other that 3:2 ratio I get the results shown in my original post. Under Animation Tab I have been setting the Frame Overlay to 16:9, but this seems to have no affect on what the Animation output frame ration is.

I have searched through the documentation and can not find anywhere to adjust the Animation's frame ratio. Am I missing something?

Hi,
The video resolution is set under the Animation tab in the Animation output properties.

I have been setting the Animation to 1920 and 1080. I have also tried 3840 x 2160 for 4K and I still get the strange framing shown in my original post. I just tried to do one today and am still getting the same result.

As further followup, the image I am importing is a flat image 27,696 x 60079 pixels with about 100 degrees FOV. I am wondering if to create a video I need to convert the Flat image to some other format. Here is a link to the virtual tour I created for it as HTML

Thanks,
John

I decide to revisit this issue with the latest version of Pano2VR to see if the newest version had resolved the problem I had in Sept. 2020. I am again trying to create an UHD video 3840x2160 resolution. I am getting the same results as I did several months ago. Individual frame files are broken into strange overlapping sections.

Hi John,
Tested a Flat project with Pano2VR 7 which was fine, can you say which version of Pano2VR you are using.
Also, I wonder if it may be the version of FFMpeg you are using.
Please download this version: https://support.ggno.me/FFMpeg.zip.
These are the versions I use on my Mac and Windows computers.
Does it make any difference?

If not then perhaps you can create a support package as found under the Help Menu and include the project file, your panorama and skin.
This will probably be a large file so use something like Wetransfer to send it in.

I am using Version: 6.1.14 64bit, Revision: 18105/5.12.2, Build date: Dec 21 2021, 19:33:32

I will try downloading the FFMPEG.zip you pointed at. I haven't downloaded it for 2-3 years so maybe I have downlevel version.

I downloaded and installed the Ver 5.0 FFmpeg and tried creating video with it.

I should point out that the individual image files are corrupted. These were shown in my previous posts. If these files are corrupted then the video of course will be corrupted.

I have prepared a support package and am submitting it by wetransfer.com. Will send an email with the link info soon.
