Hotspot redundancy

I know this issue has been beaten to death, but I have searched the wiki and forums, and posts seem to contradict each other. My question is, are custom image hotspots not yet available, unless created in flash itself? I did not see any export as .fla option, I will look again. But is this correct?

Any one word answer, or guidance/assistance would be greatly appreciated.

For the moment you can only change the hotspot image with AS3 but Pano2VR 2.2 will change that.
