I have an image popup in that I set up. I would like it to automatically close after a 45 seconds or so of no interaction. Where should I start looking for this?

Hi,
what version of pano2vr do you use?

Timer and the using of those, is what you need:
https://ggnome.com/doc/pano2vr/6/props-timer/

and there is also a timer in the template "gallery", that you find in the components toolbox:

Thanks for the help Soulbrother.

This almost gets me there. I can figure out how to make my hotspot disappear but not how to make the "ht_image" popup window to automatically close. I am not sure where to draw the timer since the popup image isn't even on the skin canvas.

Hi,

I've made a sample project that closes a Image Popup after 15 seconds and provides a visual countdown. You can see it at https://p2vrlittlebits.s3-ap-southeast- ... index.html

The time is defined in an action and can be set to anything you want.

I'm writing up a little tutorial and I'll post the sample files and link once it's done.

cheers,

Tony

Thanks for being so generous with your time an knowledge Tony! That is a very well done tutorial, I really appreciate seeing a tutorial that is text and screenshots rather than video.

Worked like a charm on my project. One detail I noticed was on step 3 your example does not automatically close and when I followed the instructions on your sample project it did not close. Strangely (but happily) on my own project when I followed the same instructions it did close after the 15 seconds.

Hi Greg,

Thank you for the kind words they are very much appreciated.

In regard to the 'step 3' issue are you referring to the section 'The Close Timer' step 3? If so the only thing I can think of is that the skin didn't get saved. I've tried the tutorial a couple of times, using the download assets, and can't find an issue.

Maybe someone else can take a run through of the tutorial to see if there is an issue.

cheers,

Tony
