Maybe it's my being somewhat of a newbie not being able to find this feature, but I think it's not implemented:
Skin settings allow for displaying a textbox together with a preview image when hovering over a hotspot in an image.
The contents of this textbox seems to be a property of the hotspot in the picture containing the outgoing hotspot.
I find settings to link this textbox to hotspot title or description.
But this still means, I have to enter the same title in any hotspot that links to a specific node, right?
When setting up a tour which links multiple nodes inside every node, it would be much easier if there was a way to link that textbox to some kind of title of the TARGET of that hotspot.
This way, one would only need to enter that title for each node once inside the node, and all hotspots pointing at that node would have the matching textbox.
The closest thing I find is editing the textbox variable inside the skin to the node URL, but that's not really what I'm looking for.
Is there some property of the nodes I can enter a title (different from the filename/URL) into, which can then be displayed in a textbox of any hotspot pointing to that node?
Thanks
Jay

Hi Jay,
From how I am interpreting your request it’s skin placeholders that you are looking for.
Each version of Pano2vr has its own placeholder reference list in its corresponding documentation files. Note that V6 placeholders now contain brackets around the placeholder.
Unless I have misunderstood your query, you’re about to find some gems. Side note, placeholders used together with variables in the skin can lead to some amazing results.
Let me know if you need some more help.
Thanks
Isaac.

Ok,
I don’t think I’m 100% following what you are trying to accomplish.
You can add text to any of the user information fields of the hotspot and then reference this by a placeholder. In the skin add the hotspot placeholder from the files where you have added your text box and it will show in the text box, Making the hotspot reusable throughout your tour.
Is this what you are trying to accomplish?

Hi Jay,
If all your panoramas have User Data Titles then the hotspots can pick this up.
In the Hotspot properties select "User Data Title (Target).
The title text box for the hotspot in the skin will use the placeholder $(hs).
What will happen is when you set a hotspot it will pick up the title of the connecting node by using it User Data Title.
Then the Hotspot ToolTip (Text Box) will display this.
So you only have to set the titles in the user data then all the hotspots can use them.
That's if I also understood your question corrcetly
Regards,
Hopki
