Hi there,

here's what I would like to do:

I need to create multiple way points just like google streetview. For that I'll probably use a Ricoh Theta or something. When in front of a building I'd like to be able to zoom-transition into the building to start a matterport tour. Is there a way to seamlessly transition in and out of a matterport tour or would I have to create all those way points manually? I'm hoping to get this project done as cheap as possible and manually creating the interior tours adds quite some time and makes it more expensive overall...

Hi,
What you could do is use a text box with iframe to open the Matterport tours.
So in Pano2VR drop in your Theta panos then have a hotspot on a door that then opens the text box 100% x 100% displaying the matter port tour.
Once done you would have to close the text box.

You talk about costs, the thing with Matterport, although quite cool tech the number of nodes per tour is far too many, of course they need this for their CGI moment but in my opinion each pano should show something new, I see no point panos only being one or two meters apart each showing almost the same thing.

So with this in mind building a tour using a DSLR or even a Theta would require far lest panoramas but still show the viewer the same content.
After all the objective is to show someone the space.
With far fewer panoramas the speed and cost would be reduced.

Hopki
