I need to transform an equirectangular image to a cylinder. However, the default output resolution is 72dpi and, for later processing, it needs to be 300.

Is there any way I can do it?

Thanks,

John

The dpi value is just a number and has nothing to do with the actual resolution.

Can you please explain a little more, Thomas.

Surely a higher dpi value means that more detail is recorded, hence a higher resolution. Is the answer then to increase the overall dimensions of the image instead?

The dpi value is just a information that is stored along the image. It just additional information for a printer but it doesn't mean more, less or different pixels. This topic has been discussed over and over on the PanoTools list. See for example here: http://www.panotools.org/mailarchive/msg/57555#msg57555
