When I drag a pano image into Pano2VR pro the thumbnails in the Tour browser show the image file name below the thumbnail.
How can I make the image file name populate the user data title field automatically?

My project has 288 panos all named the way I want them to be used in the project so can have in the skin a placeholder in a tet box to display the title name for each pano.

Thank you
Arnie

I still struggling to get it to work.
I looked in the documentation and it should work automatically.
I have selected (as default) all Exif and xml boxes in Image Metadata.
I drag the images created by Ricoh Theta V into the tour browser, but only the date gets populated.
What am I doing wrong?

I am using Pano2VR 6 beta 4 on Windows 64bit

Hi Arnie,
Like most things easy when you know how.
Open Pano2VR and select the User Data panel.
If a Multi Node pro project you will see the button Edit Project User Data.
Click this and you will enter Edit Master Node, then in the title add the place holder $(n).
For a full list of pace holder please see this document on our website.
Now click any of the panos in the tour browser to exit out of Master Node.
You will see the File Name of the Pano in the title text field, it will be greyed out but you can still if needed over type the text.
Deleting the over typed text will then go back showing the file name of that pano.

The other thing here is while in the Master Node you can add data that will be common to all images such as Author and Copyright.

Hi Hopki
Yes you are right...it is easy when you know what to do.
I had a look at the image import section and also found the Master node editing function for the user data, and the place holder list but in the list section File Path the placeholder is $n and not $(n). This is why it didn't work for me and I thought I must misunderstood the documentation.
What is the story about the () ?

Thank you

I suspect the () is expanding the use of current placeholder list.
As Hopki mentioned in his comment "THIS DOCUMENT" link takes you to Version 6b placeholders

Full link for version 6b_x found here:

Hi,
Placeholders in V5 were written like this:
$n for fie name or $ap for angle pan to display the pan angle of the panorama.

In Pano2VR 6 they are now enclosed in brackets, so $(n) and $(ap).
This allows much more function within Pano2VR.

Pano2VR 5 place holders

Pano2Vr 6 place holders

Also when in the skin editor and looking at the properties of a text box element you can also use the insert place holder button which will also show you the placeholders used for that version.

Hi Hopki
Thank you for the clarification.
In the list for Pano2VR 6 - Section File Paths: all the place holders are shown without the brackets!

Hi Arnie,
In the V6 placeholder list the File Path placeholders should have brackets.
So $(n) etc.
This is on the to do list. The only place holders that don't are the ones that start with %.

In Pano2VR 5 the place holders did not have any brackets, but in V6 they do and for a good reason, they make them more flexible and can be used elsewhere, example in a variable.

Pano2VR 6 can use the old place holders with or without the brackets.
This is so if you open a V5 project with V6, then go back to V5 it will still work.
If you open a V6 project with placeholders that have brackets in V5 then it brakes.
So V6 will open with both.

Hopki
