Hi All,
I just read that Kolor is shutting down. I have been using AutoPano Giga and while I'll probably be using it for awhile longer, I'll likely want to move to another product at some point. Is PtGui the obvious alternative? ...or should I look at another package for the Mac?

Thanks!

Hi,

Quite a shock to see Kolor shutting down, and so abruptly!

In addition to Pano2VR I also have Kolor software, that I use for various jobs in both still and video 360, including AutoPano Giga. I used it mainly to stitch images shot on a Freedom 360 rig using GoPros as it seemed to do a much better job than PtGui. However for all my DSLR 360˚ photography I've use PtGui exclusively so I'd highly recommend you try it out if you haven't already.

As you say we can still use it in it's current version, but having options is always a good thing.

cheers,

Tony

Thanks Tony,
I did play around with PTGui today and I found it better than AutoPano Giga in some ways and not as good in others, although a few hours isn't long enough for a fair assessment. If the folks at PTGui would offer a cross grade I would probably snap it up but they are not interested at all so I will stay with AutoPano Giga as long as I can while evaluating other options.
