User navigation in v. 6

Post by Howard » Mon Jul 02, 2018 4:49 pm

In this drone-shot pano created in v. 5.2.3, user navigation is as expected. Downward navigation stops at the -90° point as I wish.

But in the same pano created in v. 6 (beta 3), navigation continues past -90° (in a full vertical circle), even though the limit is still set at -90°. I think this would be potentially confusing to the user.

ALSO, in the v.6 version, on my iPhone, when I manually scroll the image, it snaps back to the gyro-set position automatically. This behavior does not occur in the v. 5 version. This behavior IMHO should be able to be toggled off.

Are there things I can do to make the v. 6 version user experience the same as it is in the v. 5 version?

Thank you.

With Hopki's help, I set up an "action filter" to limit the "enable gyro" to handheld devices. This solved the "scrolling past nadir" issue on non-handheld devices.

For anyone following, with the Gyro enabled viewing limits are ignored.
I have written up a report.

Unfortunately, the "enable gyro action filter" solution doesn't work for mobile (iPhone) when working with a cylindrical source image. Because the "scroll limits" are ignored, the mobile version will scroll vertically beyond the limits of the image, presenting the user with a black screen.
