Normally I would not bother y'all about a MS Windows update issue... but this is worth mentioning IF you are running a home network with multiple computers. I have spent a few days trying to isolate and identify the issue so I can research a solution.
In 1803 Microsoft removed "Homegroup" network functionality.
Symptoms: Before updating to 1803, you home network computers could see each other for the purposes of sharing/ moving files between your local computers. AFTER 1803 update now none of your computers can see each other.
Solution: for the computer savy folks: WIN-Key +R to run services.msc . Now you see a list of services and their (running, stopped or MANUAL) status.
Scroll down and find:
Function Discovery Provider Host
and
Function Discovery Resource Publication
For each title right mouse click to change "Startup type: from Manual to "Automatic" . Then if you can click [START].
This turns on the computers network broadcast - computer name
Each of your home networked computers needs these changes.
To confirm your computers can now see each other... click on your files and folders app [yellow folder icon] and look down for NETWORKS click to see other networked computers
