After setting the Link target node for hotspot, setting Target Viewing Parameters has no effect. Will only use default set view.

Hi,
I have tested this with Mac and Windows and can not reproduce.
Tested with no skin and each node opens with the target view.

When using a hotspot template with an Open Next Panorama action make sure you select View,"Target View".
If you use Go To URL make sure you use URL: $(hu) and Target: $(ht).
If you are doing the above and it is still not working can you create a support package with selecting skin and input images and send it open to support@ggnome.com.

ah ok, I've set the "Open Target View" in the Hotspot Template properties which has fixed it. Thanks :)

But that is curious UI/App behavior, and something not to be expected-

If one explicitly sets a "Target:" in the "Properties - Point Hotspot" panel, why should that depend on some target view default also set elsewhere in the program?

This does not match the behavior seen when "Target View" is set in HS Template (skin) and "Target:" is blank in the "Properties - Point Hotspot" panel, in which case, it falls back to the default view. The reverse should also be true- if one explicitly sets a target view, then that's what should be used, regardless of any other defaults no?

Hi,
What the target view does is enter the Pan, Tilt and FoV data of the next node in the hotspots Target text field, there is no connection to the skin editor.
In versions past and Pano2VR 6 light what you have to do is open the next nodes project file and get this data from the viewing parameters then enter it manually into the current projects target text field.
So being able to just open the next nodes preview and set the data using a preview image is very quick.

Back in the skin editor when you set a new template it has no actions as it can be used for several things.
So it is up to the skin builder to set the actions for that hotspot template, example: mouse click, open next panorama, hotspot url, target view.
When you select Target View, your actually selecting $(ht) which is the placeholder that reads the Target data in the hotspot.
Of course you only have to do this once.

If you set the target view in the point hotspot template in the skin and there is no target data to read in the hotspots target text field, so its blank, blank is the default view, hence why it works.
It would be nice if once you selected the "Target viewing parameters", this could also affect the hotspot template in the skin editor but for now it can not, but is noted for the future.
