Nadir patch lost on start image after update/reload

I just performed a work around on my start pano that seems to have broken the nadir for that image only.

My start pano showed a shadow from my tripod that extended way beyond the nadir logo.
I decided to edit the original pano image in photoshop, then in Pano2vr I right clicked and selected "Update Image" and also "Reload image". (I couldn't find what each did in the documentation and still haven't figured out the difference.)

On doing this, the old image with the shadow got replaced with my new edited image but now, in the tour my start image (the image I was working on) no longer has my logo at the nadir.

I originally setup the nadir image on the master "tour/edit master node" and it worked.
All the other nodes still have the nadir patch applied.

How do I get the nadir patch to work on the this node again?

UPDATE: I was in a bit of a rush to get out to a play last night so my description was a bit shady. I have edited it so hopefully ensure it makes more sense. I have returned to searching the documentation but have not yet found a solution.

Hi Dennis,
Which version of Pano2VR are you using?
Odd, the Patch added in the Master node should always be on top if patches added in the node.
Did you save the image with the patch?

I am using ver 5.2.3 pro.

I am itching to upgrade to 6 but I am nervous to do it in the middle of a larger commercial tour.

Right now my start image has no patch. I fixed its nadir and the shadow extending from the nadir in photoshop outside of Pano2vr.

Also Hopki, any chance you can point me in the direction of a description of "Update Image" vs "Reload image". I still haven't found that - I may just be blind!

Thanks for the help Hopki

If you look right now at:
http://tour.awden.com/234a7/
you can see the shadow on the start pano. I have not updated the online images yet so here you can see it with the nadir image on all panos.

On my offline version, that start pano is now updated and has no shadow but it also has no nadir logo. All the other images have the logo though.

Hopki,

Well the problem is me, as usual. This might be one to write down for when the next idiot does this!

Because the nadir logo is one I use for all projects, I have it stored in folder separate from the project. This folder is a dropbox folder.
Last week I switched from Dropbox to Onedrive so now the patch image I used in the project is no longer there. Pano2VR is obviously smart enough to know I had only messed with the one image so it was just that one pano that was missing the logo. I have pointed the master node patch to the image on Onedrive and it is now fixed.
Unfortunately pano2vr thinks I changed the image so it is re-building all the panos :) but that is to be expected. I am sure my problem will be fixed once it is done. It's been busy for a few minutes now.

I would still appreciate it if you could point me in the direction of a description of "Update Image" vs "Reload image".

Thanks for your help this late on a Sunday!

HI Dennis,
I have tested this with both V5 and V6 and with Mac and Windows builds.
If I add a patch in master node then change one of the node images then the patch is still seen.
If I add a logo using the master node, then add a patch to a pano, the master node patch is always on top.

Can you make a low res two node project that shows the problem and upload.
I can not reproduce.
Also check it's not a browser cache problem as a thought.

Hopki

Thanks Hopki,

See my previous post.

I was just thinking about this. It may be worth throwing an error when Pano2VR cannot find a patch file. That would alert the user that something was wrong.

Sorry for wasting your time!

Hopki, my problem is solved. I have not updated the web version yet. I'll probably have to re-upload everything, but the locally hosted version is all fixed.

With regards updating to version 6. What I have been working on so far is a web based tour. Next I want to place the tour onto Google. It seems version 6 has a lot of new features relating to Google so, my question:

Is it safe for me to upgrade to version 6 and then continue working on this existing tour or should I finish everything to do with this tour before upgrading?

Hi Dennis,
What I would do is update to V6, then make a copy of the .p2vr file and add _6 to the file path.
Then work with it in V6.
If you have any problems you can always go back to V5 and open the over .p2vr file.

Hopki
