swf from Pano2VR are unusable in PDF (not so via competitor)

Okay, admittedly a controversial Subject title, but I have been trying to create a PDF using Pano2VR and when I import it into a PDF document it looks VERY pixelated and totally unusable.

However, when I take the same spherical pano photograph and use a Pano weaving software from one of your competitors and create the swf file from their software, import that into a PDF, the Pano in the PDF is perfect.

What's the problem ?

Hi Jez,
If you look at the file size of the SWF you will see the SWF from Pano2VR is quite small. This is because it only containes the low res preview track. The full res images are in the tiles folder.

You would do one of two things. The first is go to the advanced tab of the Flash output and set embedded levels to 99. This then embeds the tiles in the SWF.

Or if you don’t need multi res set for single res and set a cudface size.

Hopki

Thanks Hopki, that sorted things fantastically :)

However.....

two questions if I may;

1) Will this work on an iPad (I don't have an iPad to test it myself).

and

2) The Hotspots I have in my VR don't seem to work, they are a bit 'random' in where they seem to be ending up, seem to move and aren't linked correctly. Any ideas ?

Many thanks.

Not if it uses Flash to play the panorama. There is no native support for Flash on iPad https://www.lifewire.com/does-ipad-supp ... sh-1994311

That said I did find that there are some ways to view Flash content on an iPad https://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/ipad/ ... 7-3460979/ but none that I think would be suitable for what you want to do.

Ah, I see, that's why it has been mentioned elsewhere in these forums to use the Documents App and drag into the iPad the folder and html/js/image tiles via iTunes :)

Basically, Flash is dying /dead (I remember Steve Jobs famous quote regarding Flash.....) and avoid it if you can.

Hmmm well lets replace "is dying" with "maybe"

Observation:
We use Win10 and associated Chrome and MS Edge browsers. Few days ago when running an Win10 o/s update I noticed a new system update for 'FLASH'. So some widely used browsers and Win10 continue to use FLASH. So Flash not dead yet.

Adobe stop supporting Flash in 2020, so to say its dying would be correct. :D
