This might help?

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=11482

Preview Thumbnail for Video and Still Image Hotspot.

Basically, I added an image (remember to add .jpg at the end of the image name).

In the Hotspot, navigate to your video file. (Link Target URL:)
Below, in Target, type "media /?.jpg"

Make sure you copy and past the still image to the media folder within the output folder.

This then shows the preview thumbnail rather than the white screen.

It's explained more on the link above.
Still have an issue exporting, so if you work that out, please share!!!!

No, doesn't help. What information do you think could help? I didn't understand all of the thread.

Hi Harald,
Are you are referring to media you have added manually in the folder?
If so then this would be correct, similar to the images for the gallery component.
If Pano2VR does not know they are there it will not add them in the package.

The best thing to do for such images or media is add them to the skin editor.
Deselect visible for the image or video and hide in the Skins Tree.
All images will go into the images folder and all videos will go into the media folder.
For images, whatever you call them in the skin will be the file name it will use, just remember to set JPG if you need to.

Example for the gallery you would use the ID: img_00 and set JPG as file type.
In the images folder you will then see img_00.jpg. The only thing you would need to do is correct the file path in the gallery component as the default is to look for the images in the gallery folder you would of made, just change this to images.

When you export as GGPKG then all the images and videos will be in there folders.

Hopki

Hi Hopki,

yes, manually. I will try out your solution with the skin.

Thanks for this workaround!

This will be very useful for publishing the tour on CD. I have chosen the Package Viewer as the executable program for the ggpkg-Extension. Thus it is possble to launch the viewer by doubleclick on ggpkg-files.

I'm not sure if this would work on CD.

Update:
The best thing to do for such images or media is add them to the skin editor.
Deselect visible for the image or video and hide in the Skins Tree.
All images will go into the images folder and all videos will go into the media folder.
For images, whatever you call them in the skin will be the file name it will use, just remember to set JPG if you need to.
I really don't know what I am doing wrong.

I followed your instructions, changed the extension in the skin editor from the default png to jpeg (my files are jpg).
No success, no preview imgage in the video file.

The video is running. Do I have to rename the jpgs to jpeg?

Update:

Renaming jpg-files to jpeg as shown in the skin editor was not the key of success.

How can I be sure that the preview- and other images will go into the images folder of the ggpkg-file?

If it is possible for you, i would appreciate some screenshots or a short camtasia screencast. I have published a lot of them and I know that pictures do say more than thousand words can do.

Best regards

Harald

Hi Harald,
All images in the skin will go in the images folder.
All videos will go in the media folder.
So your preview image will have the path, images/preview,jpg. Videos will have the path, media/video.mp4
So for a preview image for a video popup, add it to the skin, hide it and give it the name you want as the skin ID, change to jpg, thats if your using jpg.
If you select image type jpeg, then you must use this in the file path, but most use jpg.

I am working on a support video covering the Package Player which will go through all the tips and tricks. If you can hang on a day or so I will have it finished and it will guid you through a couple of ways to do what you are doing now and hopefully make life easier for you.

Hopki

Hi Hopki,

the preview-pictures appear after having changed the path.

Finally!

At last - I changed this path like your instruction and the image appears:
snap2336.jpg
snap2336.jpg (236.35 KiB) Viewed 4126 times

I don't understand this:
Example for the gallery you would use the ID: img_00 and set JPG as file type.
Where do I find where I can set the gallery to jpg?

Best regards

Harald
