Hi

This article suggests that there is a XDA developer port for Samsung 360 which can be used on non Samsung phones and it breaks the 2k limit to allow 4k video.

Actually you don't need the smartphone... set the 4K video recording on camera and download the file to the windows PC with installed Gear Action director software. The result is better than pro camera rig few years ago, example I did with bike drive: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_cont ... V4P5z2gBoU

Hi Bostjan,

When I look behind the biker in your demo video there is something weird going on, the video does not seam up at all ?!?. Is this a camera error or a postproduction fault?

Try again - it was a Youtube fault - the original 360 surround video is clear and crisp. I accidentally pressed the auto correction Youtube function which killed the immersive experience and had blurred the video. I reversed the action and now it is immersive but remained blurred - to correct that I would need to upload the original video again.

Hi Bostjan, could you post the original (non blurred) version too ? I'm really curious about the actual quality.

Thanks... bit pricy.... and judging by the sample's:
Their spherical lens image overlap seam put a tiny black box void in the zenith.
The camera looks like it might take 4 images (at 90° lenses) but from their samples I think the stitching software does not do a good job stitching.

I did not see it in the review but you need the Galaxy S7 to capture 4K video if using a phone, the S6 can only process 2K.

That you need a Samsung Galaxy phone is a showstopper for me anyway ... I only have iPhones and an iPad....

Hi,
If you have a PC with Samsung's Action Director then you can use the camera the use Action Director to stitch.
You can start and stop video and make some setting from the camera, so it is possible to use only with a PC and no phone.

Hopki
