I have a set of meta tags that I know work for embedding panoramas in Facebook. I just made a pano with the v5 beta 2 build, and when someone using a desktop system clicks to view my pano inline in Facebook it shows a blank white space rather than the working pano content. It appears to work just fine when someone tries in an iPhone, although I just realised I didn't ask whether that's using the Facebook app or the web site. (I'll go check. Anyway...)

Any thoughts on this? Has anyone else seen this problem? Shall I post my set of meta tags?

Hi Keith,
It sounds like the Flash fallback player not working as should.
Remembering that Facebook can only display the Flash output in the Facebook time line.
What does the debug tool show?

Is the URL and fetched URL the same?
If not use the fetched URL in your post.
Facebook is VERY flaky.

Here is a test pano using V5: http://ssllin1.123-secure.com/~hopkimed ... /pano.html
Copy the URL in a post set for "Only Me" to test in your own timeline.

I use the embed ggt that you can download from our website.

Is the pano supposed to play in the post window or in a separate fullscreen window?.. (because the later is what happens with your pano in facebook)

Hi Tim,
I did at one point, looks like the URL, Facebook is really bad at this, the below URL is what is fetched, which is different from the URL I would use. Putting in the fetched URL then works:

Code: Select all

http://ssllin1.123-secure.com/~hopkimedia.co.uk/fbtower/pano.html
