Hi besseas,
Ok found the problem, your using version 5.0beta which did not support the VR template with its pano2vrgyro.js
If you downloaded Pano2VR 5 beta 3a you would have the correct pano2vrgyro.js
You are advised to keep up to date with product versions.
I guess you have not selected include beta version when checking for updates.
This can be found under settings/preferences.

Hopki

Am I the only one having the one eye jump when staring at a hotspot ?
An example project would help me debugging this issue and get me going ....

Could it be the fact that I jump to a hotspot that was configured in another config file ?

Hi Arjan,
Please let me know your project.
Is it Pano2VR 5 or Pano2VR 5 Pro
Is it monoscopic or stereoscopic?

Hello Hopki,

Ok, I found the difference .... what I suspected, I'm using 1 panorama photo per config file.
Your example works for multi-node 1 config file tours, but not when jumping to a pano from another config file.

I have a lot of big multinode tours that I have made with one pano per config file. Some customers are asking for the VR option in there old tours.
If I had to transfer there tours to the one config file per tour version I have to re-assamble there complete tour again which is very very time consuming.

Till now I managed to upgrade an old tour to newer standards by searching and replacing the output code in the config files. I did this with the first flash only tours making them html5 proof and later when switching to the multi-resolution version.

When I have a working HTML5 output configuration I can find and replace this output in the old tour config files very easy, regenerating it with the old links in place. I can highly automate an action like this (unless there are severe syntax changes in the xml config file structure).

Arjan

I've looked at the differences and tweaked a little bit in the index.html file and I notice that when I'm changing in the following part of the stareNavigation function

Code: Select all

				if (pano_left.getCurrentNode()!=lastNode) {
					lastNode=pano_left.getCurrentNode();
					hotspotArray=[];
					var ids=pano_left.getPointHotspotIds();
					for(var i=0;i<ids.length;i++) {
						var id=ids[i];
						var hotspot=pano_left.getHotspot(id);
						hotspotArray.push(hotspot);
					}
				}
the

Code: Select all

var hotspot=pano_left.getHotspot(id);
line to

Code: Select all

var hotspot=pano_right.getHotspot(id);
only the right eye jumps to the next pano. My javascript skills are not that good and I don't know how to tweak it to jump with both eyes, but it looks like this can be fixed in the index.html .....

Hi Arjan,
A multi node VR project requires Pro as per the instructions at the start of this thread.

I do have and use the pro version, but u can't use the multinode config because of the reasons I've mentioned before.
Customers with older big 100+ tours want the VR option , that means I have to rebuild the complete tour instead of adding an extra output to the config file.

In my opinion multinode config is not suitable for big 100+ Node tour, I tried loading 100+ panos in pano2vr and it's very unmanageble and slow .... :(

Splitting it up in 10 node parts will not work too, beacouse I then will introduce the one-eye-jump when jumping to another part of the tour.

Hi Arjan,
With Pano2VR 5 this is very easy and the speed of it makes it very easy for managing very large projects, and when I say large I mean large. I tested with over 2500 input images.
Also when you open it back ground loads the images so you can be getting on with other tasks like any skin work.
You can also stamp tag images so changing what you see in the tour browser and of course once published once it does not re render the images again unless you change something. But then if you change one image it only re renders that one and not all of them.
How large are your input images?

Hi Hopki,

I use panos with 10000 x 5000 pixels, around 20Mb per panorama.

I have made tours with a lot off panos , they are composed out of many sepperate compagny tours. This only worked for me because I am able to split and join tours with their config files (one pano per config file). I can split up a part and generate a different output very easy.

The big tour is hosted on the website of a tourist office, and the sub-tours are regenerated to be hosted on the participants websites.

If I have to switch to all panos in one config file (the multinode tour) I have to remake 5 years of making panoramas (around 600+ tours), even if it is very quick and intuitive, it will take years to regenerate these tours. When I have giga multinode tour with 2500 panos, hoe can I split it or extract a small part withoit losing all hotspot data?

Unless you can provide a script to join single node config files to one multinode config file or extract a part of the big multinode config file, I'm all ears. If not I need a fix for the one eye jump problem on VR.

This thread was very usefull to me, but now going into the wrong direction for a while. Suggest to separate Arjan's discussion & return to "V5 VR HMD files and How to".

Thx, ChristofM.

Hi ChristofM,
I agree with what you say but Arjan posts are a good reminder to everyone not understanding that Pro is needed to build multi node VR tours. If you don't have Pro and have all the input images in one project file then it wont work.

Hopki.

I do have the pro edition ! But I can't use the multi node config workflow as explained earlyer in this thread.

@christofM: There is no wrong direction, if it's not of your interest read something else. I'm trying to explain how I work and that the multi-node config is not working for me. I've used pano2VR PRO for 6 years now, and made a living out of it. These changes in version 5 (no batch builder and the VR one eye jump) will force me to use other tourbuilding software. 2016 will be the year that VR will take a flight, I don't want to miss that boat ! And if tourbuilding is your main source of income I advice you not to miss it too!

I can just agree with "Scyfocus" ... I was poking to do something about the batch processing and HMD since last August. Right now I have 19 projects waiting in the list to be with the hmd support and since last November I am also testing other software(s) with very nice results. I didn't want to push but the list of the projects is longer from one week to the other... already critical to not do something from my side.

The minimum I need right now with the hmd support is this example: http://www.laredoturismo.es/batalla2015/
