For some subjects, like forensic work, it is useful to make two panoramas, one vertically above the other, so that it is possible say to see under something and then look down on to the top of it.
Does anyone think that it would be possible to combine the two panoramas in some way so that it is possible to view the panorama through the Z axis so as well as being able to look all around so the viewer could move the perspective up and down as well?
This could be done by having a mini-tour with the two panoramas connected by a hot spot at the top of the bottom panorama and a hot spot at the bottom of the top panorama, but is there a more sophisticated solution?

You could show both panos are once and have them linked together so when one moves the other moves so you can see both perspectives at once. This would work best if the screen was in portrait to give both panos a squarer window. |

Instead of adding hotspot on the pano to link the two panos you could add a button on the skin that switch between the two. If you have them both alined to the same pan then you can use $cur to maintain the same angle when switching

I particularly like the idea of using a button on the skin to switch between the two as using the hot spots as I thought would mean having to go to the zenith or nadir of the relevant panorama.

There is of course a vertical separation between the points aimed at when switching between the two panoramas because of the vertical separation between the panoramas, but this is very acceptable and this technique can be used to make up tour with a combination of vertically separated panoramas and others.
