I am no longer able to open the multi-resolution tiff files created by P2VR in Photoshop. PS indicated that there was "an error parsing the tiff file".
MacOS, M1 chip, Latest version of PS, latest version of P2VR. I have also tried opening PS in Rosetta mode and get the same error when trying to open the tiff file.
Photoshop can no longer open P2VR pyramid tif files

Hi,
Yes Adobe broke this, we have sent a few messages to them with test images but sadly no response.
One customer on twitter got a “we will look into it” response, but again no fixes as yet.
For now you can open in Lightroom and save as TIFF which will remove the levels and create a normal tiff that can be opened in Photoshop.
It’s odd as Photoshop can save a Pyramid TIFF but can’t open them!
Maybe drop Adobe an e-mail as well.
Lightroom and Camera Raw can open them.
If opned in Camera Raw, you can then open in Photoshop from there.
But opening in Lightroom and saving would probably be a faster process.
Regards,
