This is great imaging.

Just curious - what point on the aircraft did you call "Center" ?

Did you use an electronic distance measuring device to be equi-distant at each camera position ?
I have an electronic distance measuring device.. but its only accurate for measuring interior room dimensions. Anything beyond 100 feet or 33 meters is not really accurate.

About how many steps between camera positions ?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

We didn't use an electronic distance measuring. We used a rope with fixed length from the rear part wheels.

Then we have drawn a full circle around the plane.

The distance between the pictures was about two steps.

Excellent 'How to" tutorial about a VERY BIG object.
Must add this technique to my lessons learned book.

Finding the best center mark on the object turned out to be most difficult.

I have read about using "transparent fishing line" one end tied to landing wheel strut of a small single engine aircraft and guessing the photo points.
To object model our personal automobile we used a 30m+ meter electric extension wire. Used clothes pins every 3 feet / 1 meter for photo points.
Also used a 30m + water hose placed on ground in a circle around the vehicle with chalk marks every 3 feet/ 1 meter for photo points.

Great work. You probably thought a great deal about your work flow.

Biggest issue we have is security and ACCESS to large objects like aircraft. Apparently not an issue for you.

Thank you for your show and tell. Real inspiration !!!

Yeah, this has been a great experience!

The good thing is that we got a good result already with the first try ;) without any previous experience.
Have you seen the other plane in 360? http://bright.lv/360tures/airbaltic/training/
It's interesting that for Bombardier we had 250 images around the plane, but for Boeing 125. I don't see any difference when viewing them.
If you look at the Bombardier tour - Emergency and safety equipment pictures you will find object panos, like life jacket, protective breathing equipment...for these objects we used fishing line...

I will do a small tutorial with the pictures after my Boeing tour will be finished!
