Hi Everyone,

I can't get hotspots to work at all in Flash. Here is a screenshot of my settings - http://www.vli.com/sample.gif

and my output - http://www.vli.com/screen.gif

and, finally the output itself: http://www.vli.com/test.swf

any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Jeremy, Welcome to the forum

I saw your links on your site.

Observations:
Cylinder partial panorama (less a full 360).
Agree... hotspot over the swimming pool is not active in the .swf

I am having telephone and dsl difficulties today... hopefully someone else can help

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your reply. Maybe I'm just missing a step or something. Do I need to do anything in HTML to make the hotspot work? I did try that, but still nothing. Here's another one. This is a full 360. Please look at contents.gif Perhaps that will tell someone what I'm missing. Thanks in advance!

Hotspots in Flash currently doesn't work with cylinders. To use Hotspots you currently need to convert the cylindrical panorama to a cubical. I hope I can add these functionality to one of the next versions.

Hi Thomas,

Will Pano2QTVR do that conversion will do or do I need a 3rd party product to do that? If it will, any pointers for me? I see a conversion in Pano2QTVR, but one needs to start with a Cubic or Equirectangular image, neither of which I have. Most of my originals are 25 inches wide by 6 inches high (or similar dimensions).

If Pano2QTVR won't convert, does anyone have any suggestions as to what will do the trick?

Thanks in advance,
-Jeremy

Will pano2qtvr cube a cylinder partial panorama? Its not a full 360 image.

@72 pixels per inch your photo is

6" x 72 = 432 high
25" x 72 = 1800 wide

To create a full 360 you might consider makeing a new white background canvas.... 3600 pixels wide x 900 pixels high [photo below shows 864 -wrong], copy and paste your cylinder onto this new canvas, flatten and save as a new file name. Left align your partial pano so it fits tight to left side of the canvas.

What this will do is... you will have a large space above and below your photo. You also will have a large white space between the right end of your photo to the farther right side of the canvas.

Save it with a new file name. Then use Pano2QTVR to cube this new image. You will see that there is a round hole in the top and bottom cube faces. Since your picture is only 180 partial panorama, you will have a void white space between the far right side of your picture and the far right side of the white space. Take advantage of these white spaces by writing some advertising text.

There are easier ways to deal with this... if you do not want to see that blank wall behind the swimming pool then go ahead and take a full 360 anyway.... the flash and qtvr view can be set.. to limit the left and right view... but it won't work.. if you have not photographed the space in the first place.
