Anything new on Initial Orientation of panos in Google Maps?

Hi,
is there anything new on the problem, that the panos of a tour in Google Maps are always initially heading north, meaning that they show the street and not the business, if the business is at the south side of the street?

Here is my example: https://goo.gl/maps/j6dxf6ZnDgw

I want to point the panos towards the business and not towards the street.

I transformed the equis that way, that the desired view is at pan 0, as it was already discribed in the forum. Plus I changed the initial view and pose heading in the meta-data, but nothing changed in Google Maps.

So, how do you manage this, is there a solution?

Thanks,
Kay-Uwe

Was wondering the same, uploaded my first tour yesterday and the business is on the south side yet all the thumbnails on street view face north no matter what I do. The business is already lined up in the center of the image, so Google is definitely ignoring that and pointing north. Interestingly the thumbnails in the 'your contributions' tab in google maps are correct (well they are facing the center of the image, not north which is what I want). So I can only assume this is a Google issue.

Happy for confirmation or to be corrected.

Cheers

Hi Guys,
Yep Google are in control of this.
We send the correct information in the meta data as well as remap the image so the default view in at pan 0.
I do have Google tours that do work but then others not so very hit and miss for now.
I know Google are working on lots of things so hopefully this becomes more consistent in the future.

this issue is still there - isn't it?
A workaround would be the option to select all nodes on the map (in Pano2VR) and rotate this selection - this way I could adjust "North" the way Google likes it.

Hi,
My more resent projects all use the default view I set in Pano2VR.
Examples:
https://goo.gl/maps/o5CppJ2gC1L2
The default view is to look out over the water, which it does.

https://goo.gl/maps/bMfZngPzpDR2
This opens looking at the shop.

https://goo.gl/maps/ySEUjaRMCv72
This one opens looking at the village green signpost.

Im not going to say this works all the time for everyone as once your panoramas are uploaded to Google they are at Googles mercy.
