Designed for Pano2VR Pro.
This component provides a simple way to display the distance between nodes of a virtual tour.
The input images must have geolocation (GPS).
There are two versions one for metric, one for imperial.

Start off by downloading the component and then double click to add to the User-Defined category or your own.

• Place the text box so it is a child of the Hotspot Template
• Use either the metric or imperial component, you can not use both in one skin
• Do not change the ID of the component
• Do not edit the text

Main features:
  • Display the distance in Metric or Imperial units
  • Appearance can be customised with the text box properties or CSS

Seen here customised with CSS and used with the preview hotspot component.

To help with how to use the distance component please find two skins attached, silhouette and simplex themes.

Add the skin to a pro project and you will see a test box that tells you to remove itself.
Use the skin configuration button to select which Units the distance should be displayed in.
You can save the hotspot as a Component, select all the elements in the Tree or Skin canvas and right button click to save as a component.

When saving as a component I would use the name “Distance Node Thumbnail Pro Silhouette” and “Distance Node Thumbnail Pro Simplex” to keep with the naming conventions.

Hopki

Fantastic!

Thanks a lot Martin, this is a great addition. You remember? I asked for this about a month ago in the forum, and now it's here. Not per se because of me, but still, impressive!

I've got it working already. Never mind the color difference between the thumbnail preview and the distance field, the project is not finished yet. But it's working!

Hi Frank,
I would be inclined to add the distance to the hotspot preview image.
You can always make it higher to fit in more text and may look better than a separate text box.
But thats only mu opinion.

Yeah, I think you are right. Like I said, it isn't finished yet :)

Taken your advice and my own judgement of course and now it looks like this:

Thank you, Hopki, but I'm totally stuck with my trials. I have geolocated two panoramas, loaded the component "Distance Node Thumbnail Pro Simplex". The distances are not displayed.
Can you make a YouTube-Video?

Hi Panox,

Just make sure the component (which is only 1 textlayer 'text_distance_met') is a child of the 'hotspot_preview' folder in the 'ht_node' component in your skin. That should just work. Make no changes to the ID or text of the layer, but you can adjust other settings to taste.

It should look like the first screenshot in hopki's second post in this topic.

hope that helps,

regards, Frank

Hi Frank,

there are too many mistakes I make. Can you please provide a simple example project file?

Best regards

Harald
