Flat panorama?

I was wondering how to create a flat panorama, just like the one on the samples page, Quicktime.

Thanks for showing me this... I have not investigated this option before today.

First item I noticed was that the image is already stitched using other software.

I think this is what you are looking for

select Partial Cylinderical Panorama tutorial. Allow for FOV range (zoom in and out). Then limit the pan left and right to fixed so there is no pan left or right.

At the moment I am only guessing...

To create this you need to create a cylindrical panorama and check "no 3d distortion".
