Hi all,

This question may have been asked before but I am trying to convert a pre-sized and compressed jpg equirectangular pano 6000x3000 2mb to cube faces without altering the compression up or down. Could someone tell me what would be the best settings for this process. I tend to pre-edit the image to my liking then simply convert it to cube faces, but I have played around with various settings but still end up with a larger file size than when I started.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Paul.

Convert 6000 x 3000 to cube faces. 2mb In pano2vr [input button] load your panorama. [Convert to] button select individual cube faces [6000 /4 = 1500 pixel cube face size]. Pano2VR will create 6 1500 x 1500 cube faces and place them in the folder you specified or by default will put them in the same folder your 6k x 3k pano is located.

After you do post processing of any of the cube faces you then can convert back to equirectangluar image.. but be sure to tell pano2vr the convert back Image width is 6000 pixels wide. It has a tendancy to default to 5999 ? px.

File should remain at 2mb

After that creating a Flash or QTVR pano.. specify cube face size 1500 to maintain image detail quality. Adjust the Tile Quality compression so that the .mov or qtvr is also 2.0mb.
