Problems with Pano2QTVR tif-format

Hi,

this week I created a panorama with the latest ptgui programm. Then I launched Pano2QTVR to create 6 independent tiles to allow me to correct the Nadir. After the pano had been corrected in CS2 I converted it back to an equirectangular pano with 10512x5257 pixels. The resulting file could not been opend with CS2 and PS 5.5. The failuremessage said that there is not enough Ram but I have two gb of Ram and three gb of space for the windows swapdrive. So I think it can´t be a memoryproblem. I tried several other programms and some could open the file. After the data had ben saved with this programms the file could been opend with PS with no problem. Is this problem with the tif-files from Pano2QTVR caused by an failure from Pano2QTVR or PS.

kind regards,

Rainmaker

Same problem here with Pano2QTVRGui v1.5.0 and Photoshop CS2 v9.0.2 (latest english version), exactly the same error message.
I didn't ever have this problem before.
The source (11152x5576) equirectangular was stitched by PTGui and edited in PS, all 16-bit colourdepth, then exported as 16 bit TIFF, just like I always did. Pano2QTVRGui made 3548x3548 px cubefaces and after patching the nadir and zenith, a perfect QTVR, no problem at all.
Mapping the cubefaces back to an equirectangular TIFF apparently doesn't work anymore, so I'll install the previous beta version again to see if the problem is with v1.5.0
Oh, my system runs Win XP Pro, 3 GHz pentium and 3GB RAM, plenty temporary disk space too.

I'll keep you posted.

Hmmm....
I just intalled Pano2QTVR v1.5.0 beta9 over v1.5.0 (final) to see if I could.
It worked, and I let it remap the cube faces to equirectangular once more.
Same result, on opening by Photoshop: "Could not complete your request because there is not enough memory (RAM)".
I'll now try removing Pano2QTVR completely before re-installing beta9.
See what happens....

No such luck : (

The equirectangular TIFF made by the re-installed Pano2QTVR v1.5.0 beta9 can't be opened by PS CS2.
This is very strange because I have done this soo many times before without any problem.
Must be something else then, but what?
Back to the drawing board....

edit
Strangely enough Adobe ImageReady can open those TIFFs (but not every time, which is even more strange!), but it cannot save them in 16-bit colourdepth. So that's no good either : (

This problem (its a Photoshop bug) was covered a while ago on the PanoTools list:

Thanks Thomas.
I must have read that thread, but paid no attention to it because I never had that problem.
Thinking PTGui should also be able to open those equirectangulars made by Pano2QTVR I tried that and surprisingly it failed too!

PTGui v6.0.3 error message:

TIFF Read Buffer Setup Error
: No space for data buffer at scanline -1

Hmmmm, what to think of that one....

edit
Now I'm letting PTGui remap those cubefaces, see what happens...

edit 2
PTGui remapped them, and the resulting TIFF could be opened by PS CS2.
But now there are visible seams where the corners were, so that's of no use either.
Pixel sizes of both TIFFs are identical, 11146x5573 px, but the (16 bits, no compression, no alpha) file PTGui produced was 355 MB, as opposed to the 476 MB of the Pano2QTVR one.
What possible workaround can I think of next.....hmmmm....
