How do I limit the amount that the veiwer can see?

Hey everyone,
I need to figure out how to turn a 360 panorama into a 180 pano. I can't figure out the logic of the viewing parameters section under the settings tab. How do i pick where i want it to start and where I want it to end? Any ideas?
