Hi all
Got my new light tent, cool.
It came with two 40Watt florescent spots lamps, Hummmm.
I can’t seem to find a white balance that works, Tungsten, Nope Florescent, Nope.
The white is coming out with a blue tinge.
Any help would be good, I found pushing to levels around helped but still, it can’t be right.
Here’s my first light tent production, Link
By the way I am using a cake icing turn table for the moment, don’t laugh, it works
Cheers
Hopki

Looks great! You are moving forward leaps and bounds.
Suggestions:
You need to add a piece of bright white paper to the cake turntable. That way you do not have to edit as much out.
Second, White balance... what type of camera are you using. You might check the manual and see if you can set a manual white balance. The old trick that I use that I cam across on the internet was an old pringles lid. Not the clear type they sell now, but the one that is frosted. It has minimal tint in the plastic. I turn the white balance setting to manual, take a test shot with the pringles lid over the lens and then go back to shooting. Without knowing what type of camera it is, it is hard to guess how to get the right white balance.

Hi
Using a light tent may not give a nice white background as yet , but is does make it a lot easer to remove it using Photoshop.
Take a look at my robot, I am quite pleased with it.

Looks good . Did you need to do much editing? What light tent and lights did you
end up buying. I have looked but cant decide.
May just buy a backdrop and light, not sure. Depends on size of objects I suppose.
Cheers, John.

Hi John
How are things in Battlesbridge?
I did a Google search on light tents and got a cheaply one for about £25.00.
The lamps are just normal lamps but with “Constant Light Florescent bulbs”
What ever thay are!
To be honest, they look like big energy saving bulbs to me.
I could not get the white balance right, the background keeps coming out light blue, so looked at Photoshop and took out the background.
All the best
